It is developed in accordance with the level of 'Beginner’s Level 1', taking into account the International Korean Language Curriculum of the National Institute of the Korean Language and the Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK) of the National Institute of International Education. The main textbook for this course is 'New Inha Korean 1'.

It is designed to perform basic language functions necessary for survival, such as "self-introduction, buying goods, ordering food," and is designed to understand and express contents related to very private and familiar topics such as "oneself, family, hobbies, and weather."

Foreign learners who have completed this course can generate simple Korean sentences based on their understanding of basic vocabulary and basic grammar. They can also understand and compose simple daily life sentences and practical sentences in Korean.
